Since 2008, we have been giving our time and passion to one goal – quality, functional and beautiful design. Some of us call it real design. The way it should be. Although this serious request sounds immodest, we have reason for it. We believe that every pixel should be in its place, and this is a rarity. In today’s digital jungle, full of visual noise, artificial intelligence nonsense and hastily made designs, it is more important than ever for a studio to stick to its ideas, to its roots and strength.
In this spirit, with many ideas and sleepy smiles, we sat down on a cool January morning with a cup of aromatic coffee. The conversation was ordinary, uncomplicated and typical, but the general idea was making its way to the surface. “Are we satisfied with the current site? Isn’t it time for something new?” Yes, a lot of time has passed, a lot of things have changed, many trends have risen and set, a lot of water has flowed and many clients have come and stayed satisfied. The moment, however, had come. The typical spark of design excitement had lit a fire that would not go out. We started talking about elements and technologies that we wanted to implement. About styles, colors, typography. It didn’t take long to decide that we could build something new, something special, something real.
We have always thought that a good idea is like a beautiful fruit tree. It takes time for it to germinate, grow, bloom and bear its fruits. But when it does, it is worth every effort, because they are tastier than anything else for a designer. Well, the moment has come and the new pixelhouse.bg website is the fruit of a lot of effort, a lot of work and a lot of long conversations.
We went with what we know we like. Trends are sometimes fleeting, but taste is eternal. So what do we like? Bold typography, minimalism, beautiful visualizations and … skillfully applied glass effects (glassmorphism). And no, our love for this effect is not the result of Apple’s new interface, but a long-standing slip into style. Luckily for us, the trend took on a fresh breath of popularity in parallel with our development. Animations and effects were the next step. We did it boldly and with a bang, but without overdoing it. The good balance between user experience and beautiful vision kept us on the right track when we deviated with some crazy idea. There were many of them. They always exist in a design process. The important thing is to recognize them before they turn the endeavor into a nightmare.
On the occasion of our 16th anniversary campaign in 2024, we tried out a bold new color that was back on the agenda. A bright, rich yellow-green shade that can be called “neon lime” or as the author of this article decided to name it – New Age Lime. New age, doesn’t it sound inspiring? Its presence on our new website is just enough to inspire the feeling of something fresh, new, intriguing. Just like a few drops of lime in a nice summer cocktail. It attracts attention, but not in an unpleasant way. It makes one focus their gaze and feel the energy, and we have it in abundance.
One warm afternoon, after a sudden thought and a few quick developments, the idea for a new logo was born. After all, the feeling of something new had not left us for some time, right? Why not ride it and see where it will take us? And after all, many of our clients have sought us out precisely for logo rebranding and breathing new life into their brand. We have always been on our own here and know what to touch or replace to make the rebranding successful. Logos are not like websites. We know it well. They live much deeper in the bowels of a brand, and changing them causes mixed feelings in most cases. The moment, however, had come – and for this reason. There were not a few ideas. Those that remained on the drawing board simply did not have the spirit of something special, real. It was not easy. When you get used to seeing the symbol in the logo that defines your belonging every day, it becomes like a second home. And Pixel House™ has always been a home. Of ideas and emotions, but most of all – of beautiful, clean and clear design.
The traditional house in the logo was replaced by a new, bold logomark, keeping the pixels in a minimalistic way. The white lines and symmetrical structure bring a sense of order, balance and stability – qualities without which good design cannot exist. Qualities that we ourselves cultivate every day. The idea behind this logo identity inspired us. We also updated the proportions of the typography, cleaning up the optical balance, as well as the style of the slogan.
We created a logo that would be recognizable everywhere – from a smartphone screen to a billboard in the city center, no matter how trite it may sound. We are proud of what we have achieved and believe that the visual message is clear. Pixel House™ Studio is a place where every idea gets its shape, and every pixel is in the right place.
We chose a bold direction for our new logo, in which we can’t wait to go and discover what lies behind the next bend. We believe that change is a good thing. Even better, however, is when it happens not out of obligation, but charged with fresh ideas and that special spark that shines in every designer. We had the privilege of preserving and developing it.
We hope you like the result!
